In 2017, Jackie and I decided to expatriate from France to establish a French bakery in Norfolk. It took us two years and all our savings to finally open “La Brioche” in March 2019.

About a year later, Covid-19 emerged, and thanks to your support, we managed to weather through this ordeal.

As part of its development plan, the city of Norfolk will undertake the refurbishment of sidewalks and underground networks onGranby Street passing in front of the bakery. 

This will be a two year project during which there will be no parking or sidewalks, and only one line car traffic.

Therefore, we have decided to relocate the bakery to 1415 Colley avenue, Norfolk.

The new location has great potential in the heart of Ghent, near the Naro Theatre, many small shops and restaurants, as well as Norfolk public schools and EVMS.

It’s difficult for us to finance through the bank given our non-immigrant E2 visas.

The budget to relocate “La Brioche” quickly exceeded projections. That’s why we are launching this fundraising campaign “GoFoundMe”.

Your support will help us relocate the bakery, pay employees during the closure, and contribute to the development of Ghent.
